So first! We went to the ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS  (there's no fancy script font (._ .    ) but make sure you say that in a fancy accent.

YAY. I was quite happy. Plants are the best @ - @

Fern forest.

Cool old-school signs

After we took this we realized I wasn't supposed to go in there. oops.

I have a ton more from the botanic gardens. I'll make another post soon with the rest of the pics.

Care package from Stephen's grandparents!! Thanks so much you guys!!

So, now on to Halloween! So, Halloween isn't a huge thing here. So, we just had a little celebration to ourselves.

Outside stuff!

So a couple of days ago, I heard about a flock of endangered birds that had been spotted on campus. Apparently they were late for migration to Tasmania and they wouldn't be there for long. I called Savanna to tell her about them and ask her to come take some pictures!

This bird is called the Swift Parrot. Click the link if you want to read about them. It was pretty tough to get these pictures. Aside from the parrots being "swift," they were very high up in the trees. As good as Savi's SLR is, she doesn't have the best lens for zoom.

Also, last night Savi and I saw the lunar eclipse. Pretty neat. Couldn't take pictures of it though.

This duck I took a pic of from the zoo makes an excellent wallpaper.

Rando Nando

Hey! We have internet now so time to update the blog. To be honest, we've had internet for about a week now, I'll make sure to update more regularly for now on.

So one of Savi's nicknames from her family is Nanna, which is occasionally just Nan, which sometimes gets turned into Nando. So yup.

A couple of weeks back now, we went to this cool old antique mall. It really is about as big as a small shopping mall. Tons of cool stuff to look at.

You may recognize this lamp from its breakout role as Lamp from our apartment tour.

We went to an "Indian and American" grocery store and got some hot sauce and grits! Unfortunately, the grits had moths in them. I'm sure they were sitting on the shelf for months. Anyway, it's all ok because my Dad is sending us some in the mail!

Single serve soy sauce comes in little fish packaging. Pretty neat. Also, that sentence sounds like it is from a language leaning book.

I dunno. I thought this was funny. I was looking through this file cabinet to see if anyone was using it.

Here's Savi.

Here's is a picture of this old radio at a second-hand store. I have no clue what all of these dials mean.

And here is a short clip of a Simocephalus. I went out to a pond to collect some Daphnia to practice handling before the specific Daphnia I'll be working with come in. It turns out that I collected these guys instead of Daphnia. They are in the same family, just a different genus. They look almost identical to Daphnia, but still very different.
